I looked up from the dark corner as slowly as I could, making no noise at all. I sighed loudly and nuzzled Fiona and licked her on the face until she woke up from cuddling on top of me. She moaned slightly and tried to ignore me. "Fee, they're here...." I announced to Fiona as well as I still could. Fiona woke with a shock and stared at the dark figures that where standing in front of us. "We gotta go!!" Fiona exclaimed loudly looking for an exit. I lowered my head and sighed, my ears drooping reactivly as I did so, "Fiona I can't run anymore, I'm tired and there's no where left to run. Let's call it a day and just go with them, it can't be any worse then the last six months...." Fiona looked at me in disbelif, refusing to accept that we were finally beaten, she stared into my deep brown eyes and saw the fear and the tiredness in them. She fell into me and hugged my furry body tightly still not willing to accept the truth... The dark figures moved towards me, I could all ready hear them getting a collar and leash out. Fiona kept her arms around me and looked up also hearing the collar and leash now. "Is that really nescassary??" Fiona asked the dark figures. I licked Fiona gently and stepped towards the figures, "It's okay, they are only doing their job, it's no less then what we did almost seven months ago..." Bending down silently one of the dark figures placed the collar around me and patted me on the head gently, "Good boy." It said gruffily. Fiona lept at me and grabbed on tight, the dark figures trying to wrestle her of me. "Can't she come too?" I asked, already knowing the answer. The same voice replied with an unexpected answer, "I don't see why not..." Fiona realeased me in surprise at this and followed the dark figures who where being surprisngly gentle with the leash. It was not like I thought it would be, they were almost nice about taking me in.... Opening a large black transit van's door the dark figures gestured Fiona and myself into the van. Gingerly I jumped into the back of the van, only just making it as the restraining power of the leash pulled back on my neck. "Sorry.." the same dark man said once again, "Forgot about that...." and he unclipped the leash from around my neck. Fiona stared at both me and the dark man and just shrugged her shoulders, with a quirky smile she half said and half asked "New policy?" The dark man laughed slightly and ruffled my fur again before starting to explain, "You two cost the operations department so much they gave up on trying to capture you again after only a few months, since then operations have had us trying to bring you both in to sign the papers." Fiona looked puzzled so the man clarified, "We're from public relations, we were told to bring you in so Matt here could sign the papers and be declared a free citizen." My eyes widened and my ears perked up at this, looking towards Fiona and just gaped in amazement. "This can't be..." Fiona said for both of us. "It's true." The man said, "You've been running for no reason for too long..." I laughed loudly for the first time in about seven months, "I guess we are going home after all Fee." The van drove off at high speed towards the place where it had all started, the Corp. H.Q. It seemed strange that after so long I would be happy to return to this place, the place that had wanted to dissect me. "We're here." Annoucnced a unseen driver. The dark man who had treated me well once again clipped the leash onto the collar. "Ops would be slightly upset if you were to walk in of your own free will, if you look depressed or something we may get paid more...." he joked slightly. As the van door was opened into the familer building complex I strained slightly against the pull of the leash, hoping that I was a better actor then I had been a fugitive. The dark man glared at me slightly before grinning widly and playing along. I don't remeber much of the cermony or paper signing, beuraucratic and diplomatic stuff mainly the Corp had turned this into one huge propganda exercise. Fiona stayed beside me during the whole event, after the crowd had dispersed we took the papers I had signed, well more pawed but they were still legal, and made our way to a guest room set aside for us. I lay comfortably by the fire as Fiona poured over the papers still in disbelif of all that had happened, Suddenly her faced dropped. "What's wrong??" I asked axtiously, fearing some trickery from the Corp. "These papers, they don't exactly grant you free citzenship, more they confirm my ownership of you as my pet." Fiona said translating the legal babble to English. "What?!" I shouted before jumping up beside Fiona, "Let me see that..." Sure enogth on the fifth page of the papers in smaller print was the confirmation that I was nothing more then Fiona's dog. I sighed loudly, nuzzling gently into Fiona when suddenly the door bell rang. "Room service.." Came a voice from the other side. "It's open." Fiona and I replied in unison. In came the man from the van carrying a dog collar and name tag. "Hi again, I brought these for Matt, he'll need them now...." the man said sounding slightly guilty. "You tricked us." Fiona said veemently, turning away from him. "I'm sorry, it's what I was paid to do." The man replied with a sad tone in his voice. Feeling silghtly sorry for him I padded towards him and pawed at his legs before lowering my head and allowing him to place the collar around my neck. Slowly the man bent down and placed the collar around my neck and tightened it up. "There you go Matt." He said smiling, "Now you look like a real dog." "Ruff!" I barked as best I could before gently licking the man's hand. Fiona turned back towards the man and I and stared at the collar around my neck. "It suits you." She eventually said. "Thanks, is it my colour?" I asked jokingly. "Nah, a nice red would suit you better." She replied instantly. I returned to Fiona and nuzzled into her arms, forgetting about the mysterious man. A cough from him reminded me of his presence. "You still here?" I asked, "Would have thought you'd be out on your next assignment." "That's why I am here, one of the other agents told the big cheeses how I treated you both, so they fired me." The man explained sadly. "Oh that's crap man, lossing your job 'cause you should some kindness." I replied. "Yeah well I was just wondering if you were looking for some one to help you run??" the man continued. "Why would we want to run?" Fiona asked. "Paragraph five, section two, clause eight and I quote; The Corp will be allowed full accsess to Matt at all times of the day." The man automatonicly quoted. Fiona stood up and rushed through the papers, "He's right..." She announced. "Okay then, I'm Matt, that's Fee, but you already know that... Now where's the nearest exit." I said looking around for the quickest escape route. "My name is Ian, and I think we go that way...." he said pointing towards the window. "Why that way?" Asked Fiona looking towards the door. "Because the door is the way home...." Ian replied.
